Vac Tron Equipment Operator

Olathe, Kansas

Requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (CDL).

 

The Vac Tron Equipment Operator is responsible for the successful completion of positive verification of underground utilities.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate Vac Tron and equipment in a safe and professional manner.

  • Competently drives Vac Tron to and from job sites.

  • Excavate with combination of pressure washer wand and suction line to verify utility locations for underground crews.

  • Follows specifications for the job and company policies.

  • Ensures all equipment and components are in good working condition at all time.

  • Properly maintain Vac Tron equipment.

  • Use proper PPE at all times and follows all Vac Tron procedures.

Aerial Lineman

Olathe, Kansas

Requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (CDL).

 

The Aerial Lineman is responsible for building, repairing and maintaining overhead telecommunication systems.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable

  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.

  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks and more.

  • Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers

  • Flagging traffic when required

  • Understanding of separation and clearance regulations

  • Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.

  • Ability to travel when travel is required

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years aerial line experience in the telecommunications field

  • Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques

  • Experience with installation and network upgrades is a plus

  • Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)

  • Proficient in pole climbing and working from hooks/gaffs

  • Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to and exceeding 30 ft.

  • Splicing of active & passive equipment would be a plus

  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; Class A CDL -or- Class C

  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

  • Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather

  • Candidates must be able to pass pre-employment testing (motor vehicle, drug and background)

  • An ideal candidate must have knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques including the placement of poles and anchors, familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment, ability to read and understand prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions.

  • Must be capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.

Directional Drilling 

Operator

Olathe, Kansas

Requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A (CDL).

The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for running a variety of directional drilling equipment to install underground conduits and cables. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Horizontal Directional Drill

  • May drive equipment to job site

  • Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit

  • Communicate with team to confirm the location of the drill head

  • Conduct post-job quality checks

  • Clean, check fluid levels and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/ equipment to assure your vehicle/equipment is performing at optimum safety, perform the required pre-trip, post trip inspections and the required paperwork, perform needed maintenance including winterizing equipment.

  • Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Dailies, labor hours, bore logs, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)

  • Follows specifications for the job and company policies

  • Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site

  • Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work

  • At end of work day, truck and equipment should be returned to shop and secured. Vehicles and equipment to be kept clean and secured.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years demonstrated Horizontal Directional Drilling experience

  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities

  • Knowledge of underground pot-holing is a plus

  • Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications)

  • Understanding of client and company work specifications

  • Ability to comply with the “Operator’s Manual” for your particular equipment

  • Self-motivated, safety, quality and production minded

  • Ability to read and comprehend and follow all quality/safety policies and procedures.

Fiber Optic Technician/Splicer

Olathe, Kansas

A Fiber Optic Technician/Splicer is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic systems.

 

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with inside and outside plant fiber optic networks.

  • Fiber optic splicing experience.

  • General troubleshooting/problem solving and OTDR testing skills.

  • A Fiber Optic Technician Certification would be extremely beneficial.

  • Customer service skills

  • Good time management skills

  • A team player with a positive attitude in a very fast paced environment.
