ROLE: 

​

The Job Coordinator at K&W Underground plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient planning, scheduling, and execution of telecommunications projects. This position acts as a liaison between project managers, field technicians, clients, and vendors to coordinate resources, materials, and schedules. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has excellent communication skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Coordinate and schedule telecommunications installation, maintenance, and repair projects.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for field technicians, subcontractors, and clients.

  • Ensure all required materials, equipment, and permits are available before project execution.

  • Monitor project progress and update stakeholders on timelines and any potential delays.

  • Be available by schedule 24/7 for emergencies or as necessary in the service to K&W and its customers.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including work orders, service reports, and compliance records.

  • Assist in managing work orders, change orders, and service requests.

  • Work with procurement to ensure timely ordering and delivery of necessary materials.

  • Address and resolve scheduling conflicts or unforeseen job site issues.

  • Support the preparation of project reports and performance metrics.

  • Ensure all work adheres to company and industry safety standards and regulations.

  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: GED/High School Diploma or 10 years practical experience in the telecommunications industry. Valid driver’s license. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Familiarity with industry-specific tools, equipment, and safety regulations. Moderate ability in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) or project management software.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience in job coordination, project scheduling, or related field in telecommunications, or experience as a Construction Foreman operating equipment or Installing Fiber Optic Cables.  

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Ability to solve problems and handle high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel to all job sites as needed.

LEADRSHIP: Ability to lead a team and direct the work of others. 

ON-GOING TRAINING: Ability and desire to complete and continue education opportunities for industry certifications, new equipment, etc.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly. 

AVERAGE HEARING: Able to hear average conversations and detect the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness. 

AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

​

Ability to work in an office setting and occasionally visit job sites.

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION: 

​

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. 

MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions. 

LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
