VAC #9 REBUILD PROJECT

The K&W shop team was tasked with the challenge of converting a 2009 Freightliner M2 Flatbed Truck into a Hydro/Vacuum Excavation Truck to be used for fiber projects.

To start, they completely re-designed the truck to a drop bed, allowing the vac tank to sit lower to the frame. Next, they re-designed and built the hydraulic locking system changing it from manual to hydraulic with secondary locks. They also added safety features to include having to be in neutral and the parking break set before operating the machine. They changed the fuel system, and added a hydraulic motion engine instead of the original diesel engine. The cable control was changed to a custom electronic control panel on the machine. Lastly, the tank was stripped and re-painted, re-wired and re-decaled to look brand new again!

Not only did they convert the vehicle, but they added high quality features to make the vehicle easier to use for the vac team. Great job to the K&W shop team, and thank you for your hard work!
