Rex Schick, K&W Director of Business Development, along with 3 other executives from Sellenriek Construction and Amerine Utilities Construction were the representatives for the states of Kansas and Missouri.
Each year, contractors from across the nation meeting with their state's elected officials to discuss industry topics.
This year our contractor representatives discussed the following topics:Transportation and Infrastructure with Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO-06) and Rep. Sharice Davids (D-KS-03), Education and Labor with Rep. Steve Watkins (R-KS-02), Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee with Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO), Agriculture with Rep. Roger Marshall (R-KS-01), and Energy and Commerce with Rep. Billy Long (R-MO-07).
We are always proud to participate in helping grow our industry's knowledge and collaborate with our nation's leaders to improve our communities!

PCCA, WIA Team Up with FCC for new Workforce Development Program

K&W Director of Business Development Rex Schick and other members of the Power and Communication Contractors Association's Government Affairs Committee took another trip to Washington D.C on May 1st to discuss their new workforce development program with the FCC. This program was launched in conjunction with the Wireless Institute Association (WIA) to provide additional job training opportunities in the telecommunications industry. Other attending members included Jonathan Adelstein and Grant Seiffert with the WIA.
FCC Commissioner Carr stated “Today’s announcement is more good news for 5G. Community colleges and technical schools are an ideal training ground for 5G jobs, and these programs will help ensure we have the skilled workforce in place to deploy next-gen networks. I look forward to working with PCCA and WIA to stand up more of these programs across the country, creating a pipeline for Americans to land good-paying infrastructure jobs.”

Governor Colyer Proclaims April “Safe Digging Month” in Kansas

On Monday, March 19, 2018, Governor Jeff Colyer, M.D. issued a proclamation declaring the month of April as “Safe Digging Month” in Kansas. The proclamation, in concurrence with National Safe Digging Month, reminds Kansans to call 811 before starting any outdoor digging projects. K&W Director of Business Development, Rex Schick, was apart of this annual signing that took place in Topeka as representative for Kansas One Call, Kansas Common Ground Alliance and as a Kansas City lead communications contractor.
